Megan Lewis, M.S., LMFT: An independently Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist providing individual, couple, and family therapy.
Are you someone that uses humor to avoid feeling your emotions? Do you hold onto control and a fierce sense of independence in order to avoid vulnerability? Do you project to others that you "have it all together" but inside feel so much emotion that you are fearful of letting any of that show? I understand that it can become exhausting to hold onto the masks that you show the world or to those closest to you. I am committed to providing you skilled and insightful therapy services that come from a foundation of acceptance and compassion in order to support you in making the positive changes you are seeking for your relationship, for yourself, or in your recovery so that you might feel free to be you out in the world and in your relationships.
In my 10+ year career, I have worked in inpatient, residential, and outpatient settings. I have served as a Clinical Director of two different agencies, one focused on treatment for eating disorders and the other focused on treatment for substance abuse and domestic violence. As part of these positions as Clinical Director, I have supervised clinicians in the field for their professional development, provided clinical trainings, and been responsible for oversight of program operations. For the past 4 years, in my private practice, I have focused my work on couples and those seeking recovery from trauma or an eating disorder.
I have received training in EMDR for treating trauma and have also used EMDR as part of my work with individuals working through an eating disorder and have received training in Emotionally Focused Therapy and work with couples from a framework grounded in this approach.
